Job Description:


General Purpose

This position is responsible for researching, writing, and coordinating with various City departments to complete and submit grant applications for the City of Trinidad.  This position will be required to be on-site at the Space to Create office approximately 20 hours per week.

Responsibilities as outlined in the City Charter

  • Note:  Regular and predictable attendance in the performance of this job is an essential function.

  • Write high-quality grant proposal narratives, applications and supporting documents.

  • Responsible for researching, collecting data, and writing of each grant.

  • Work with Department Heads to determine grants available to the specific needs of that department, and work closely with the grant administrator to ensure compliance with all active grants.

  • Manage the proposal submission process to ensure timely submission of all required materials.

  • Identifies grant funding opportunities and organizes and maintains a grant calendar accessible to all Department Heads.

  • Maintains proficient knowledge of the City’s history and programs.

  • Develops relationships and collaborates with key stakeholders, including Department Heads, government entities, and granting agencies to compile financial information and data.

  • Submits the required supporting documentation to the prospective funder.

  • Collaborates with the Economic Development Director to compile an annual report for submission to the City Manager and City Council.

  • Must maintain records in both hard copies and computer databases.
