Bull-Terrier

Words on Photo

"If stories come to you, care for them. And learn to give them away where they are needed. Sometimes a person needs a story more than food to stay alive."  -Barry Lopez

Bull-Terrier

If I owned a Lab,

it would be leaning

outside the passenger window,

beaming joy into the world.

But Haley is a Pit.

The center console, her only safe space,

is puddled with drool,

and she's shaking like a hobo

on the wagon.

Later, in Motel-6, she will relax.

The ice bucket will be full of water

and the television's glowing light

will play our favorite show: Naked & Afraid.
