CORAZON DE TRINIDAD CREATIVE DISTRICT TO HOST “SURVIVAL IS INSUFFICIENT”
A multimedia, online salon
The Corazón de Trinidad Creative District ushered in the Fall season by inviting “creatives” of all sorts to contribute to an online, multimedia salon. This virtual experience will focus upon creations by regional artists, and creatives of all sorts, including crafts, music, writing, theatrical performance, quilting, dance, painting, happenings, printmaking or any other creative medium. Many of the submissions will focus upon the theme: “Survival is Insufficient,” and will show how creatives have continued to do their work during the pandemic. Featured works will include pieces which deal with artists’ experiences and insights during the pandemic, as well as examples of their usual creative endeavors, completed by them as they have carried on during this unusual time of pandemic.
The salon opened on September 22nd, and submissions will continue to be accepted as long as the theme remains relevant.
Marilyn Leuzsler, Executive Director of the Trinidad Creative District explains, “This is not your usual 'art show.' We recognize that there are many creative individuals in our community who do not fit into the usual definition of 'fine artist.' While we want visual artists to participate, we also want to give all creatives an opportunity to show the community how their unique talents have continued during this time.”
The “salon” is open to all artists and creatives who reside in Southern Colorado and Northern New Mexico. All sale inquiries will be forwarded directly to the artist.
Submissions are currently being accepted at https://www.corazondetrinidad.org/survival-is-insufficient-call.
Artists and other creatives can learn more about the salon and submit their work by visiting the Creative District’s web site at www.creativetrinidad.org.
