The Mitchell Museum Board sure knows how to throw a party, and for the fifth year in a row, Quick Draw was an entertainment and financial success.
At high noon, the gun was fired and all the assembled artists picked up their chosen media and began to create. Thrilling for the many spectators who gathered to watch the action, the Court House grounds provided the perfect combination of soft grass for those who were shoeless and shade for those who needed a break from the gorgeous Colorado sunshine. With seconds to spare, the artwork was transported to the Mitchell Museum where art lovers and patrons had time to view all the paintings and then participate in the brisk auction.
Quiet stranger to town Kim Mackey, showed up, set up, and cleaned up – as the big winner, bringing in $1,000 for his painting.
Local artist Carol Bourdo chose one of her favorite models, an animal, seen here from start to finish.
The 5th annual Quick Draw event was a rousing success for art lovers and artists alike. We're excited to see the talent on display for next year's event!
