Arts and Cultural Advisory Commission
awards $12,000 to local arts
Deborah Barnhardt and Marilyn Leuszler, members of the Trinidad Arts and Cultural Advisory Commission, hand off a $4,000 check to Bree Pappan, Executive Director of the Trinidad Area Arts Council. Additional $4,000 checks were awarded to the A.R. Mitchell Museum and the Southern Colorado Repertory Theatre in support of their programs, all of which provide showcases for local artists, cultural enrichment and entertainment for tourists and the local community, and educational programs for youth.
The commission is now calling for applications and is in the process of selecting smaller individual project grants, with the aim of developing a strong public art program in the community.
Look forward to designs and works of art currently in consideration for the new pocket park in front of Frank’s Images on Commercial Street and at the Purgatory Bridge on Commercial St.
