We are in the “pre-development stage” which is the time period that architects, engineers, and surveyors are quietly poking around and through the three amazing historic buildings that will be transformed into a block long and a block wide facility to provide live/work space, community shared space, performance space, retail stores, activity, and lots of jobs!
The firm of Artspace of Minneapolis is heading up this phase of development in coordination with city departments. As with every new project, the pre-development stage is also the OMG! or Discovery stage where experts find “little surprises” in basements and attics. So far, we haven’t heard of anything that will slow down the process, and we’re still aiming for an October 2016 “ground breaking” date. We’ll keep you posted!
