First National Bank of Trinidad Hosts Topping Out Party for their New Galleria.
(Excerpts from Steve Block of The Chronicle News and Marilyn Leuszler, Chair of the Corazon de Trinidad Creative District Board of Directors)
The final beam was signed by those attending the celebration at the soon-to-be Galleria site. 2017 will bring completion of this major project on Main Street in the Corazon de Trinidad! It's getting difficult to keep track of all the good things happening in our great little town! First National Bank of Trinidad held a Topping Out Party on Friday, August 26 at 4 pm in the parking lot behind the bank. The entire community was invited to sign the final steel beam on their new Galleria before the beam is placed on the building. And the community showed up, from city officials to bank employees to others who wanted to witness this first step in the gradual renovation of our historic town.
The 15,600 sq ft, two-story building will feature a brick façade with grand windows at street level on Main St. connected to and expanding the current Rapp designed bank building. Also accessed from Main St. will be five retail spaces, a two-story atrium running the length of the building, and a multi-purpose community room. The back side of the building, facing First Street will feature a bar and café with outdoor dining on the second level.
