The Trinidad Latin American Cultural Festival a first and a collaborative success for the entire community.
The Trinidad Latin American Cultural Festival was the second “Voices” event, launched originally when poet Wang Ping was in town with her international Kinship of Rivers project which included multiple poetry events plus several opportunities for creating stories through the painting of flags. The October two-day event was presented to the community October 7th and 8th as a celebration of the rich traditions and heritage of the Latino and Hispanic roots of this region. This event consisted of new exhibitions, historical walking tours, guest speakers, arts and literature, music, dancing and of course food!
The “Voices” Multicultural Arts Group would like to thank Trinidad Arts and Culture for providing a kick start grant to serve as matching funds for sponsors and members. Recipients included AR Mitchell Museum of Western Art, Trinidad History Museum, Carnegie Public Library, Trinidad Area Arts Council and Trinidad Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.
