Southeast Rural Philanthropy Days, 2018 kicked off its year of planning at three separate planning sessions, first in Trinidad, then LaJunta, and then LaMar.
Representatives of Colorado Resource Center and Anschutz Family Foundation were in Trinidad to officially start the process of finding Co-Chairs and Steering Committee members to start planning the next Non-Profit and Front Range Funders conference for the southeast region which includes 9 counties. These invaluable 3-day meetings occur every four years throughout rural Colorado. The last event in Las Animas County was held in Trinidad in September of 2014 where Co-Chairs Harriet Vaugeois of Southern Colorado Repertory Theatre and Linda Perry of Trinidad State Junior College, seen leading a buy-in activity below, helped plan the conference.
Also on the most recent Steering Committee were government and community leaders of all the 9 southeast counties that benefit from training sessions, collaborations, and face-to-face meetings with the people who donate to keep non-profits alive in rural Colorado.
